The muhurtham data on this website is not copied from any published panchangam. For each supported location, the planetary positions are computed for the relevant date and time, and the corresponding Rasi chart is derived from that.

Our sunrise/sunset times, Tithi, Nakshatram, Yoga, Karana, and planetary positions can be cross-verified against Drik Panchang or any other reliable source online.

Muhurtham evaluation is then done using a consistent set of astrology rules grounded in Indian tradition, scriptures, and Jyotisha Sastra. This is a deterministic process, and precision matters here. There are many rules involved in setting and evaluating a muhurtham, and some are occasion-specific. For example, in marriage muhurthams, it is important that the 7th house from Lagna is not occupied by any planets (Saptama Suddhi). For Gruha Pravesam muhurthams, it is important that the 8th house from Lagna is not occupied by any planets (Ashtama Suddhi).

Traditions also differ from one region to another. This website is designed specifically with Telugu customs and practices in mind. The goal is not to auto-generate astrology content, but to present location-accurate muhurtham information in a way that is easier to browse, compare, and understand through the Rasi chart, score, and explanation in both English and Telugu.

The engine uses traditional muhurtham principles such as lagna strength, lagna-lord strength, Moon placement, benefic and malefic influences, house-based checks, and occasion-specific suitability rules. The principles and rules are grounded in Vedic Indian astrology.

No. The muhurthams on this site are not generated by AI. They are computed from location-specific planetary positions and then evaluated using Vedic Indian astrology principles.

Muhurtham calculations depend on location and timezone. The same date can produce different local timings in different cities because sunrise, planetary positions, and lagna windows vary by city and country.

That is why country and city pages are important, especially for users outside India.

If your city is not supported yet, please use the nearest supported city in the same region and timezone as a temporary reference. As a practical rule of thumb, if the nearest supported city is close enough that the sunrise and sunset times differ by not more than about 15 minutes, you can usually use the muhurthams shown for that supported city as a temporary reference.

• Lagna: This is the constellation that is rising at the time of muhurtham. Also referred as Ascendant.
• Tithi: shows the lunar day.
• Nakshatram: shows the star active at that time of muhurtham
• Benefics: Jupiter (గురుడు), Venus (శుక్రుడు) and Mercury (బుధుడు) are considered as natural benefics. Also referred as Subha Grahas (శుభగ్రహాలు).
• Malefics: Sun (సూర్యుడు), Mars (కుజుడు), Saturn (శని), Rahu (రాహువు) and Ketu (కేతువు) are considered as natural malefics. Also referred as Papa Grahas (పాపగ్రహాలు).
• Depending on whether the Moon is waxing or waning, it can be considered either as a benefic or a malefic
• Combusted: When the apparent angular distance (as viewed from earth) between a planet and sun is less than a predefined value, the planet is said to be Combust. You may be aware of Guru Moudhyam (గురు మౌఢ్యం) and Sukra Moudhyam (శుక్ర మౌఢ్యం). When both Jupiter and Venus are combust, auspicious events like marriage and gruha pravesam are not to be conducted.
• Rasi Chart: Rasi chart is traditional method of displaying position of planets and Lagna overlayed on top of Rasis. In vedic indian astrology, there are 9 Planets and 12 Rasis. Rasi chart is a visual representation of Planets placed in the Rasis at the time of muhurtham
• Houses: Lagna is always the first house. The next rasi after Lagna is considered as Second house. For example, let us say that Lagna is Simha (or Leo). The next rasi after Lagna will be Kanya (Virgo). So the second house is Kanya. Let us say that the planet Sun is placed in Simha rasi. Then we say that Sun is in first house or Lagna. For example, let us say that Mercury is present in Kanya rasi. Then we say that Mercury is placed in Second house.
• Kendra houses: 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses are referred as Kendra houses.
• Kona houses: 1st, 5th and 9th houses are referred as Kona houses. Note that the 1st house (or Lagna) is both a Kendra and kona house. 1st, 4th , 5th, 7th, 9th and 10th houses are jointly referred as Kendra kona houses.
• Upachayas: 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses are referred as Upachaya houses or in short as Upachayas.
• Dusthanas: 6th, 8th and 12th houses are referred as Dusthana houses or in short as Dusthanas.
• Ashtama sthana: 8th house is also referred to as Ashtama sthana, where Ashtama means eight.
• Bhagya sthana: 9th house is also referred to as Bhagya sthana, where Bhagya means luck.
